Indonesia is planning to launch a national crypto exchange
Indonesia is planning to launch a national cryptocurrency exchange in 2023 as part of its broader financial reform initiative. The launch of the exchange is expected to provide numerous benefits, including increased financial inclusion, faster and cheaper transactions, and greater financial stability. Indonesias’ move may also encourage other countries to consider implementing their own national cryptocurrency exchanges, leading to increased acceptance of cryptocurrency.

Mastercard to help artists enter Web3
Mastercard has launched an accelerator program for artists called “Mastercard Artist Accelerator”, which will utilize Web3 and Polygon blockchain to connect emerging artists with mentors and fans. The program, starting in spring 2023, will provide five musicians, DJs, and producers to access and create their own musical paths in the digital economy. Artists will have exclusive access to events and music releases, and fans can learn alongside them through the Mastercard Music Pass NFT, granting access to exclusive Web3 x Music educational materials and experiences.

Moonbirds NFT collection soars to new heights with Hollywood partnership
United Talent Agency (UTA), a major Hollywood talent agency, has partnered with Proof, the company behind the successful NFT collection, Moonbirds. The partnership aims to expand the reach of Moonbirds through various partnerships and turn it into a global brand, according to its CEO Kevin Rose. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Experience the beauty Around the World with National Geographic’s NFT collection
National Geographic is releasing its debut NFT collection, "GM: Daybreak Around the World '' in partnership with Web3 studio Snowcrash. The collection features 16 photographs from National Geographic photographers and digital artists capturing the break of dawn around the world. The collection will be available on Snowcrash from January 17, 2023, and can be purchased using a debit or credit card, without the need for a crypto wallet.

Crypto Industry lost over $3.7 billion dollars to hacks in 2022
Cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets were hacked for a total of $3.78 billion over 303 separate attacks in 2022, according to a report by crypto-security firm SlowMist. The report also highlighted that most of the funds stolen were from NFT, DeFi and cross-chain bridges. While this is a huge number, it’s down 61% from 2021 where the industry had a total of $9.8 billion stolen. Use a password manager, cold wallet and don’t share your seed phrase!
